The church building
Upkeep, repairs, insurance and heating for St Columba's, a listed building exposed to every storm on the Clyde.
We believe you should know exactly what happens to every pound you spend on our lottery.
We publish exactly how lottery money is divided. In a normal weekly draw, every £1 entry is split like this:
Lottery proceeds go into the general funds of the Shore Kirk and are spent on our work in the parish.
Upkeep, repairs, insurance and heating for St Columba's, a listed building exposed to every storm on the Clyde.
Keeping our upgraded hall warm, clean and open so local groups have somewhere to meet.
Visiting members at home and in care, and delivering Christmas cards across the parish.
Community initiatives and events that bring people together along the shore.
As a small society lottery, we send a return to Argyll and Bute Council within three months of each lottery. It shows the total money taken, the amount paid in prizes, the expenses deducted and the amount applied to the church's purposes. The law requires at least 20% of proceeds to go to the society's purposes; our target is 40%.
We publish the same figures here after each quarter, so you can see the declared proceeds for yourself.

In the four Superdraw weeks each year the split is 60% prizes, 30% good causes and 10% costs. Across a full year that still means about 39% of everything taken goes to good causes.
A one-off or monthly gift supports the same work in our parish. If you are a UK taxpayer, Gift Aid adds 25p to every £1 you give, at no cost to you.
